Amber Whitaker, LCSW
Amber Whitaker is a compassionate therapist who helps adults and older adults navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence. She understands that experiences such as grief, trauma, changes in health, and major life transitions can leave people feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about the future. Amber strives to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel genuinely heard and understood as they explore their experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and find renewed meaning and purpose in their lives.
Amber earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Utah and has specialized clinical experience in geriatric psychiatry, hospital-based behavioral health, and medical-behavioral health integration. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, caregiver stress, cognitive changes, and challenges related to aging, chronic illness, and changing independence. Her integrative approach draws from evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and psychodynamic and existential approaches. Amber tailors treatment to each client's unique circumstances, recognizing the important connections between physical health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and life experiences.
Amber believes meaningful therapy goes beyond managing symptoms to helping people better understand themselves and build lives that feel more fulfilling. She values authentic connection, collaboration, and meeting clients wherever they are in their journey. Whether supporting someone through a difficult transition, helping a family navigate the challenges of aging, or working with an individual to rediscover hope and purpose, Amber brings compassion, experience, and a thoughtful, individualized approach to her work..
