Mike Johnson, ACMHC
Therapist
Mike Johnson is a seasoned therapist and retired Navy Officer with over 25 years of active-duty service and extensive experience in mental health counseling. While serving, he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in counseling psychology, combining clinical expertise with a deep commitment to helping others achieve healing and growth.
Throughout his naval career, Mike served as a senior counselor at a major Counseling and Assistance Center, where he received the Navy Achievement Award for innovative program design. He also led the successful overhaul of a correctional custody program—significantly improving outcomes—and created the Navy’s first correctional program for female service members.
Since retiring from the military, Mike has continued his work in mental health through private practice, agency work, and volunteer advocacy. He has supported court-ordered cases, mentored at-risk youth, and served as both a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster children and a victim’s advocate in cases of trauma and violence.
Grounded, compassionate, and service-minded, Mike brings a wealth of life experience and perspective to his therapeutic work. He provides a steady, nonjudgmental presence that helps clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.
