Julie Schaumkel, CSW

Therapist

Julie Schaumkel believes therapy works best when clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. She views each client as the expert on their own experiences and approaches therapy as a partnership built on trust, honesty, and open communication. Julie strives to create a warm, welcoming environment where clients can explore difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable and work toward changes that are meaningful to them.

Julie specializes in trauma-informed care and works with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and other emotional and life challenges. Her approach is individualized and grounded in compassion and cultural humility, recognizing that each client brings their own experiences, identities, strengths, and needs to therapy. She helps clients better understand what they are experiencing, develop practical coping skills, and move toward greater resilience and wellbeing.

Julie understands that reaching out for support can be difficult and believes clients should never feel they have to navigate life’s challenges alone. She meets clients with empathy, curiosity, and without judgment, helping them take meaningful steps forward while honoring their own goals and pace.
