Mac Dawson, LCSW
Therapist
Mac Dawson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s degree from the University of Wyoming. She has experience across multiple levels of care, including intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient programs, youth residential facilities, Special Education school settings, and supporting individuals and families in domestic violence crisis situations.
She uses a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and nonjudgmental approach to help clients feel safe and supported. Mac has experience working with Autism, ODD/PDA, trauma-related concerns, selective mutism, and substance use disorders. She most often draws from DBT and CBT to support emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and conflict resolution, while integrating EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and play and narrative therapies when appropriate.
Recognizing that therapy can be both challenging and joyful, Mac prioritizes building authentic therapeutic relationships through play and humor. She believes healing happens best in spaces that feel safe, engaging, and accessible.
Outside of work, Mac enjoys reading, spending time at the park, and trying new restaurants and coffee shops across the valley.
